How to apply

Admission requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. If your bachelor’s degree was from a non-traditional institution where letter grades were not issued, you are required to take the MAT or GRE.

3.00 GPA in the last 90 quarter/60 semester credits recommended. Strong applicants with a lower GPA are encouraged to apply and may be admitted on a probationary basis.

Selection criteria — We are looking for a fit regarding:

  • Ability to engage in self-directed and reflective learning;
  • Engagement in whole person learning and personal growth;
  • Experience working with groups, organizations and/or change;
  • Opportunity to apply learning in organizational settings;
  • Critical thinking and clear written/oral communication skills;
  • Willingness to collaborate in a learning community;
  • Commitment to full participation in the 22 months of the OSR Master’s program.

Submit the following documents to begin your OSR application

Completed application for Graduate Admission. Go to: www.bgi.edu, select the Admissions tab, Apply, and complete steps 1 - 5 of your OSR Application. Contact paula.brekke@bgi.edu with any questions.

Official transcripts from the last two years of the baccalaureate degree and any post-baccalaureate course work. A completed undergraduate degree must be verified prior to enrollment. Exceptions to the policy are noted with the degree requirements.

Students who have earned degrees from institutions issuing non-graded transcripts must submit official results from MAT or GRE.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) exam — Applicants who received most or all of their education in non-English speaking countries may be required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language exam.

Two letters of recommendation from individuals who can speak to your qualifications for this program. Download the Organization Systems Renewal Recommendation Form (pdf).

Three- to five-page double-spaced, typed essay to help determine the fit between your goals and those of the OSR Graduate Program. Include the following in your essay:

  • Describe for us your personal, professional and educational history. Tell us how this relates to your current educational and career goals.
  • What is the difference you hope to make in the world with a degree in Organization Systems Renewal? What are your opportunities to apply your learning in an organizational setting while you are in OSR? What is your experience working with organizational change?
  • Tell us about your interest in learning and collaborating in a cohort community.
  • What is your financial plan to support your participation in the OSR program? What personal and organizational support do you have for undertaking the OSR program at this time? What time commitments will you be giving up so that you can make room for the OSR program in your life?
  • Outline the personal and organizational support you have for undertaking the program at this time.

What's next?

Your application will be reviewed, a faculty interview scheduled, and eligibility for acceptance determined.

A timed writing sample will be scheduled for those who reach the final screening. You'll be able to complete the assignment from your computer.

Financial commitment

cohort tuition, payable quarterly supplemental fee
OSR 19 (Jan 2013 - Jun 2014). $39,900 ($6,650 per quarter).

$4,200 ($700 per quarter)

Tuition and supplemental fees are payable in six quarterly payments. The tuition is spread evenly over the 6 consecutive quarters of the program. The supplemental fee covers all required reading material and residential costs for off-site sessions.

Additional fees currently include a one time application fee of $55. Parking near campus is not included. Students also collaborate to provide simple, healthy snacks about once a quarter during weekend sessions and may incur minor expenses related to this. These fees will be assessed and may be subject to change for the OSR 19 cohort.
